Phantom by Laura DeLuca is an exciting Thriller / Mystery, rife with page-turning suspense and rich character development. You don’t have to be a fan of the Young Adult genre in order to appreciate this novel. Amateur performers in a high school drama club bring to life the stage production of “The Phantom of the Opera” by Gaston Leroux, only to discover that someone among them is using “The Phantom” as an avenue for their own sadistic gains. This book kept me awake at night– I was unable to put it down. Just be sure you read it on a weekend when you don’t have to get up early for work!
